A man has been charged with several vehicle re-birthing offences after several parts were seized from a business at Kempsey late last year.

On Monday November 21, Kempsey detectives and investigators from the State Crime Command’s Property Squad conducted a business inspection on a motor vehicle repairer in Crescent Head Road.
Three motor vehicle engines and a motor vehicle were located that police will allege had their identifiers removed or altered.
Subsequently forensic analysis of the items revealed that all had been previously reported stolen.
About 5pm on Thursday January 12, a 52-year-old man was arrested at Kempsey Police Station.
He was later charged with facilitating organised car re-birthing activities, possession of motor vehicle or vessel where unique identifier has been interfered with (x 4), receiving motor vehicle and larceny by bailee (x 2).
The Kundabung man was granted conditional bail to appear at Kempsey Local Court on Monday February 20.
