Jolly ol’ Saint Nick is readying his sleigh for a visit to town on Christmas eve, so why not give him a big shout by belting out some of your favourite tunes at these great events.
On December 10, Carols by the Lake will be held at Lake Cathie, kicking off at 5pm.
The community event will include entertainment for the kids, music by the Young Guns Concert Band while the Lions barbecue van will be available for food.
There will be a visit by the big man in the red suit as well.
For those in Wauchope, the Wauchope Community Christmas event will feature plenty of singing. It also starts at 5pm at Bain Park.
The event is proudly sponsored by two Wauchope businesses, Holiday Coast Credit Union and Hastings Co-op. It’s supported by Port Macquarie-Hastings Community Grants program and hosted by the Chamber of Commerce.
Over the last six years, the event has grown to be a major community gathering that embraces shared values and brings people of all ages and backgrounds together.
Prime Possum, Holiday Coast Credit Union Koala and Santa will be arriving after 6pm, the Holiday Coast Car Promotion will be drawn at 7pm and the Wauchope Gazette Shop and Win Promotion will also be being drawn on the evening.
Sing Australia and the Port Macquarie Senior Concert Band will again grace the evening with Christmas carols, a backdrop to children’s activities and market stalls.
If you just can not get enough festive tunes, then on December 11 you can visit the Wauchope Bonny Hills Surf Life Saving Club for Carols on the Grass. It starts at 5pm.
In Port Macquarie, the annual Christmas Under the Stars Carols and Fireworks spectacular, hosted by the Westport Club, will take place on December 17 from 6pm.
Westport Park will be packed to the brim with people, who will be looking forward to seeing special guest Tim Campbell.
As well as Tim Campbell, the local Salvation Army, student dance groups and other local organisations will be on show.
Of course, there will be plenty of food and drink, and maybe an appearance by Santa Claus himself.
The grand finale is the epic fireworks display, which will take place shortly after 9pm.
