Traffic is starting to move around the cleared site where two cars were involved in a crash on the Pacific Highway at Cooperabung.
The crash site is about 25 kilometres north of Port Macquarie.
Traffic was banked up for about three kilometres north and south of the crash site causing heavy traffic conditions.
The crash involved two vehicles, one is believed to be a police car.
Emergency services remain at the scene along with the crash investigation unit.
It is understand that the drivers and passengers have been freed from their vehicles.
Traffic Management Control has urged motorists to exercise extreme caution.
TMC has implemented stop/slow traffic management while a contra-flow system is also now in place. This should allow traffic to recommence moving around the crash site.
The accident is about 25 kilometres north of Port Macquarie and is near the Mingaletta Road.
