Tacking Point Public School’s outstanding performance choir, Bel Canto, travelled to Sydney to perform in the NSW Department of Education’s Festival of Choral Music recently.

This prestigious event was held in the Concert Hall of the Sydney Opera House.

The audition process to be part of this festival is highly competitive, with schools from all over NSW vying for selection. Bel Canto has been successful in gaining a place in these festivals since the choir’s formation approximately 14 years ago, under the direction of Robyn Ryan OAM.

At the Sydney Opera House, the choir rehearsed for the afternoon with a short dinner break before the big event. The students sang as part of a massed group of approximately 700 students to an audience of around 1500 people.
