Hudson labels Davis Cup experience a highlight

NICK KYRGIOS, James Duckworth and Bernard Tomic are just three of the names Kendall Tennis Club ballboy Rhyan Hudson mixed it with in Sydney at the weekend.

Hudson was one of six ball boys who serviced the Davis Cup tie between Australia and Slovakia.

Tennis club president Wendy Hudson said the teenager labelled it as the highlight of his ball boy career.

He’s only been doing it for four years.

“He wanted to know when the next Davis Cup was on,” she said.

Hudson has only been a ball boy for four years and could now be labelled a veteran.

He’s been to Sydney’s APIA International several times, but admitted the Davis Cup tie was on another level.

“Not everyone gets the opportunity to do what he’s done already,” Hudson said.

Meanwhile, the new Kendall Tennis Clubhouse is on track for a January opening.

“There’s still a lot of work to be done, but we’re at least up to the lock-up stage now,” the president said.
