It is the case that has a nation intrigued.

There have been more than 2800 reports to CrimeStoppers, 196 reports directly to Strike Force Rosann, and 1078 sightings of William. There have been 11,000 pieces of information and 628 exhibits collected, police have canvassed 450 addresses and interviewed 690 persons of interest.

And still, we have nothing.

It is incredulous that not one person has come forward with information that will deliver the truth about what happened to William.

It is beyond belief that not one person knows or has been told something, and if they have, continue to say nothing.

That frustration was evident in Det Chf Inp Jubelin’s firm reassurance they will not be giving up.

The decision to offer a $1 million reward would not have been made lightly, or with a sense of surrendering hope.

What the announcement has done at the very least has catapulted the case back into the public spotlight, at the forefront of conversation where one person might utter the words that will make a difference.

If you are that person, it is time to come forward.

It is time for you to share what you know and end the grief and heartache.

William Tyrrell is a little boy who had his opportunity at a happy life taken away.

A little boy who wanted to be Spiderman, a superhero, but has possibly come face to face with the worst kind of evil.

There is a great deal of uneasiness in granting the person who knows the truth, and has concealed information, an exemption from the law if they come forward.

There is a level of disgust that it takes a financial reward to lure those who know something out of the dark.

But if this is what it takes to find out what happened to little William Tyrrell, we hope whatever information is shared also leads to the arrest and long conviction of the person responsible.

As Det Chf Inp Jubelin said – the pressure is on.
