The popular Port Macquarie venue was named ‘bar of the year in a regional hotel’ at the recent gala event, held at the Four Points by Sheraton.
The awards were hosted by Catriona Rowntree and was attended by Rydges Port Macquarie General Manager Denny Keane and Food and Beverage Director Vlademir Milveski.
GM Denny Keane was delighted and said it was an honour to be recognised by industry as the market leader in regional NSW.
“It’s a credit to the Zebu team and the work put in behind the scenes to achieve this outstanding result,” he said.
“We are looking forward to a bright future with the recent launch of our new bar and cocktail menu that is being well received by our Zebu guests.
“The team are busily working on new offerings to ensure we build on this year’s success.”
Chair of TAA NSW Nigel Greenaway said this year’s finalists were world class.
“These venues really do showcase the best the NSW hotel industry has to offer,” he said.
“They quite simply are second to none and that is shown in the high quality of all the finalists.
Zebu came up trumps in the hotly contested regional category ahead of five other leading venues to include Bar 1820 at Chateau Elan at the Vintage Hunter Valley, Lord Ashly Lounge at the Crowne Plaza Terrigal, and the Lovedale Bar at Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley.
“This year we received the largest number of submissions in the history of the Awards,” Mr Greenaway said.
“The judging was very competitive and we wish to congratulate everyone who has been successful in 2016.”
Food and Beverage director Valdemir Milevski is keen to continue the venues success with a host of enticing new concepts for Zebu visitors in the months to come.
“Our vision for Zebu Bar and Grill is all about good times. We want people to feel a connection through our food and our drinks,” he said.
“Our menus will change regularly focusing on great local, seasonal produce and service with flair. We are all about creating memories and raising the bar each time you visit.”
The bar will now contest their title at a national level at a gala event for excellence on the Gold Coast on September 19.
