And with performances like his top 10 finish at last weekend’s Seaside Classic he has the ability to make it.
He knows it will take hard work, but has already made the first movements towards taking the next step.
Jubelin said there were two ways to pursue his dream of becoming a professional golfer.
One was to know the right people, while the other was to apply for a scholarship.
“There’s a program that we’ve known about so we have sent all the details like my recent golf results and academic results and they sent it to the colleges that would be suited for me,” he said.
“Now it’s a matter of waiting to hear back from them.”
If he is successful in being awarded the scholarship in the United States it will forge a path to follow in the footsteps of childhood idol Tiger Woods.
“When I was growing up dad just made me watch Tiger Woods and that was pretty inspirational,” he said.
“Now with Jason Day and Adam Scott doing what they’re doing it’s pretty cool and it’s a lifestyle that I want to try and achieve.”
The 17-year-old has already claimed the Lower North Coast District Golf Association's Open and Junior Championships.
Last weekend Jubelin finished seventh overall in the Classic after winner Dylan Perry set a new course record.
It set the bar high.
“I played pretty well and didn’t make too many mistakes,” he said.
“I felt comfortable on the greens as well and it was disappointing not to win, but with the scores like that it was always going to be hard.
Along with applying for the scholarship, Jubelin also had the added stress of his trial higher school certificate exams during his preparation for the Classic.
“It was hard because with the trials last week it was always going to be difficult,” he said.
“So I tried to come out for an hour or two after school and then go home and study after that.”
The teenager could receive the ultimate Christmas present at the end of the year.
That’s when he will be notified if he has been successful in applying for the scholarship.
With the scores like that it was always going to be hard to win it.
