FIVE students from Saints Youth Drama in Port Macquarie celebrated a medal haul at the Taree Speech and Drama Eisteddfod recently.

Rylee Parry, 15, challenged herself to compete in both the 16 years and 23 years championships.
Overall, she won 13 first places, including first place in the 16 years championship and equal first in the 23 years championship. Rylee also won a $750 scholarship, as well as the prize for the most outstanding competitor outside of the Taree area.
Charlotte Schrader, Astrid Fairhurst, Paige Wheeler and Ella Shaw competed in the 12 years and under sections. They won first, second and third in many sections.
Charlotte won five first places, including the 12 years and under championship, as well as many second and third placings.
Ella won a second in verse speaking solo, third with Charlotte in the dramatic duologue and highly commended in the 12 years championship.
Astrid and Paige were very clever to win the dramatic duologue, with Paige also taking third place in her verse speaking solo.
Rylee and Charlotte have been invited to perform at the grand concert, which will be held on June 4.
Mrs Sandra Thompson, principal of Saints Youth Drama based at St Josephs Primary School, said she was so proud of all of her students who participated in the eisteddfod.
They will now commence to prepare for the Port Macquarie Eisteddfod which will be held in September and the Trinity College of London Speech and Drama Exams in November.
