I WAS dismayed to find that nearly 2 weeks after the circus performed in town not one letter of objection was lodged or published.

Perhaps some people have forgotten that keeping exotic animal such as lions in captivity for the purpose of entertainment is unethical.
The Lennon Bros Circus probably treat their exotic and domestic animals extremely well and heed government legislative standards.
However, as the RSPCA states, “no circus no matter how well managed can provide an appropriate environment for wild animals”.
This circus also boasts they have one of the largest flying trapeze troupes in Australia. Ok, let them focus on human performances instead of exploiting animals such as lions and monkeys.
Furthermore, these animals obviously need to be chained and caged at various times for public safety. Whether or not they are 12th generation circus born, a lion will always be wild because of its innate instincts. Lions do not belong in cages, they do not belong in circuses.
We need as a community to change our mindset and join numerous countries worldwide that ban the use of exotic and or domestic animals in their circuses.
I believe that animals do not have a place in the modern circus. Its time to put an end to this archaic tradition.
