I'm just getting over a massive weekend of grand final action in which both Port teams were represented in rugby league and union deciders.
The Hastings Valley Vikings were too good for Pirates in union on the Saturday, before the Sharks knocked off the Breakers in league the following day.
It's safe to say that both the favourites won, but the underdogs really took it to their opposition on both days.
The 20-8 scoreline didn't reflect the contest in the league. Breakers were in that match for long periods.
I thought the Pirates had the union locked up, but Vikings made a great comeback in the 28-24 victory.
The round ball footballers take centre stage for their semi finals this weekend and, you guessed it, it's another local derby.
Port Saints will host Port United in the minor semi final at Findlay Park at 3.05pm tomorrow.
The youthful Saints are making their first Football Mid North Coast Premier League grand final appearance. They hope to make full use of the home ground advantage, even though Findlay Park is only about 100 metres from United's Dixie Park headquarters.
United has been there and done that, and the older heads have experience which Saints' young guns just don't have for the most part.
Englishman Matt Goodwin will be invaluable in the Saints' midfield.
I'll be an interested spectator at that match.
