A BEAUTIFUL, sunny Saturday welcomed our junior players to Macquarie Park for round 14 of the competition on the weekend.
Our young NetSetGo participants have been busy working through their 10 week specially designed program with coaches Jodie Burge and Kim Thompson.
Both coaches report excited players every week, and a great improvement across all the players' basic skills.
Burge and Thompson are disappointed that the program is ending but encourage the players, not advancing to the next stage of their netball journey, to enrol for next year's program to continue the good work already achieved in this group.
A number of teams travelled on Sunday to participate in the all age carnival hosted by Taree Netball Association. From all reports, a few winner and runner up trophies made their way home to Port Macquarie after a successful day.
Saints Boost was one of those teams who had a great day, playing 10 shortened games in a round robin style format.
The only loss recorded for the day was against a team from Bowraville.
Coach Helen Miles was thrilled her players worked together so well and were rewarded at the end of the day with a winning trophy. Monday night was the final round of the minor fixture for the senior competition with the final series to be started on August 10.
Thursday night social competition has all but finished its first comp of the year with the division 1 teams playing their final game last Thursday.
Shooting Ninjas took first place with runners up Port Macquarie Tigers.
Division 2 will complete its season on Thursday at 6.30pm.
There are just two days to go until the beginning of the Netball World Cup in Sydney with the first whistle of the tournament being blown at 10.50am on Friday in a game between Jamaica and Samoa.
Australia will feature for the first time on Friday at 9.05pm in a game against Trinidad and Tobago.
No junior games are scheduled to be played on August 8 or 15 because of the cup.
