The team limped out of the starting gates at the beginning of the year and sat there-abouts for the majority of the Group 3 competition.
But it's the team's run down the home straight that has made other sides sit up and take notice.
With just two rounds of regular competition left the Breakers are a good chance of securing second place on the ladder thanks to their late surge.
Tomorrow the Breakers will head south to Taree to take on the Bulls in a match they should be expected to win.
The following week the Ben Sprague coached team will be gifted the competition points with a bye.
As far as the Bulls go Sprague is expecting his charges to lift again considering it will be their final game before finals.
"I need them all to click seen as though its our last chance to get everything right before finals start," he said.
"Having a bye in the last game is a good and bad thing for us.
"If we get any niggly injuries this weekend it means they have another week to freshen up for the finals.
"But at the same time it would be nice to go into the finals with consistent footy and another win under our belts."
To secure the all important second spot on the ladder the Breakers of course need to be victorious against the Bulls but they also need the Wauchope Blues to drop one of their remaining game.
The Blues have the competition bye this weekend before taking on the undefeated competition leaders the Port Macquarie Sharks in the final game.
