The three Port Macquarie bowling clubs The Westport Club, Port City and Hibbard Sports Club will join Lake Cathie, Wauchope and North Haven in hosting the 86th state carnival.
The event will also be in the area next year.
Bowlers from as far afield as Lithgow and Austral will hit town from today until Wednesday for the early rounds of competition. The finals are on Thursday and Friday.
NSW ladies president Robyn Procter will be in town, along with Women's Bowls NSW chief executive officer Nicky Bethwaite.
Panthers Women's Bowling Club president Robyn Crosariol expected a big crowd at her club, Hibbard, in Boundary Street.
"We'll fill up the entire club, and 'the barn'," she said, referring to the function room at the club.
She said the event would go off without a hitch in Port Macquarie, with the town having experience hosting the tournament in the past.
"We've done all this before," she said.
