Family fun, activities and ceremonies will take place at Port Macquarie's Town Green, at Laurieton adjacent to McLelland Street Reserve, and Wauchope at the showground.
Port Macquarie-Hastings Council Australia Day Sub-Committee has called on some of our hard working community groups to help with providing entertainment and activities to ensure Australia Day engenders feelings of pride in our nation.
Here's the program of events:
Port Macquarie Town Green
► 8am-4pm Handicrafts, market and food stalls
► 9am-4pm Jumping castles, face painting and fun things for all the family
► 9am-4pm Display of Marine Rescue vessels at Lady Nelson Wharf
► 9am-4pm Display of vintage fire engines and other vehicles.
► 10am-12pm Children's games including egg and spoon races, sack races, egg throwing competition, wheelbarrow races with prizes
► 10am-11am Sing Australia Choir
► 11am-12pm Hastings Municipal Town Band
► 12pm-12.20pm Whip cracking demonstration
► 12.30pm-1.15pm Bago Magic Performance Group
► 1.30pm-2.30pm Black Magic Swing Band
► 2.45pm - Official dignitaries parade along foreshore from Historic Court House to Town Green led by the Hastings District Highland Pipe Band
► 3pm-5pm Australia Day Ceremony (wet weather contingency in Glasshouse Theatre)*
