Last month the regional company's employees were revealed as some of the most prolific blood donors in the country. They notched up 1000 blood donations by the middle of November, which earned the company the title of Australia's seventh largest donor team.
The Australian Red Cross Blood Service's Greg French said Essential Energy's staff had helped save a remarkable 3000 lives in 2014.
"What is incredible about (that) contribution is they have an employee base of 4000, yet is competing against organisation with tens of thousands of employees," Mr French said.
Essential Energy's Daniel Kelly spread the word throughout the company and spurred his colleagues on to give greatly.
"It's just the right thing to do, and it doesn't cost us anything," Mr Kelly said.
"Even so, I've been blown away by how many people have got involved in a big way."
The team effort is part of the Club Red Program, which challenges businesses and community groups to roll up their sleeves in roughly the same time as a lunch break or meeting.
"Not only do you feel good about giving blood, but you're helping to save three people's lives with every donation," Mr French said.
