A fire started on the side of Pappinbarra Road has burned through 403 hectares of bush but is being controlled by Rural Fire Service.

Aircraft Officer Syd McRoy said on Sunday about 2.30pm, six trucks with crews and a helicopter with an air attack supervisor on board were deployed in the area.
"We are just trying to get as much water on to it as possible in light of the hot weather," he said.
Officer McRoy said they had not yet confirmed how the Pappinbarra Road fire was started.
Another blaze along Fowlers Road, Gum Scrub is under control after a lightning strike started it on Saturday night.
Officer McRoy said a remote are crew and helicopter were working to ensure the fire remained in containment lines.
The bush fire had burned more than 2 hectares.
