The anticipation will be contagious as locals queue to be among the first in the world to this year’s most sought-after smartphones. Port Macquarie Apple superfan Tim Hitchins, who graduated from high school this week, says the he can’t wait to test run the new device in between studying for his HSC.
“My smartphone is part of who I am, I don’t go anywhere without it," Tim said.
“I’m excited to be one of the first people in the world to get to experience the iPhone 6 Plus; the larger screen is going to be great for watching videos and taking photos.”
Telstra Country Wide Acting Area General Manager for North West NSW, Peter Lamond, says, “We’ve found Port Macquarie locals really embrace new technology and have been eagerly awaiting this launch.
"There are few things more exciting than an iPhone launch and we can’t wait to make iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus available to our customers on Australia’s largest and most reliable mobile network,” Mr Lamond said.
“Over the years, technology has developed superstar status, particularly the smartphone. Our phones are more than a mobile now; they are a part of how we connect to the people and things we love every day.
“We want to support the people who champion new technology in the community – the devoted first adopters – by helping them enjoy a ‘new phone feeling’ more often.”
