It was shortly before 2.30pm (Wednesday) that emergency services were called to a home in St Vincent Street.
Police have been told the child was hit by a Holden Commodore station wagon as it reversed out of the driveway.
Ambulance Paramedics transported the child to Manning Base Hospital, where she later died.
The driver of the Commodore, a 27-year-old man, was also taken to hospital for mandatory blood and urine testing.
Specialist police from the Crash Investigation Unit will investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
A brief will be prepared for the Coroner.
