The first grade side got away with a win against the Wingham Tigers by the skin of their teeth on Saturday afternoon.
The score finished at 18-17 with the Tigers throwing every thing at the Sharks defence in the dying seconds of the game.
But the Sharks managed to hang on and will advance further into the Group 3 finals series.
In the last round of Hastings League action, the red-hot Kendall Blues racked up a win beating Long Flat 40-24.
Lower Macleay won 40-0 against Beechwood.

IT was double trouble for the Port Macquarie Magpies today with the clubs reserve grade and under 18s winning their respective titles.
Both teams played Sawtell and both outfits won their matches convincingly.
Reserve grade won 54-11 and the 18s smashed their opponents 107-9 in a dominant display.
Hastings Valley Vikings showed why they are the team to beat in MNC Rugby with a comprehensive 66-5 win in their final round game this afternoon.
Vikings beat Southern Cross University Marlins and will head into the finals series as favourites having secured the minor premiership.
Port Pirates defeated Kempsey 19-7.
Vikings and Pirates stay on track for a grand final derby after they finished first and second in the regular season draw.
