The young guns are undefeated this year, to go with their unbeaten run last year.
They take on Sawtell this weekend in the most important game all year, but in a boon for the club, the reserve grade team will also contest their final, also against Sawtell.
But it's the young team that have the club excited about the future.
Coach of the team and club president, Craig Carroll, said there were a number of factors responsible for the teams success in recent years.
"We have some really good junior coaches involved in the club," he said.
"The boys themselves are very mature and totally committed to their sport, but also we employ a unique game plan."
He said the main reason for the success of the adopted plan was all in his players commitment.
"We employ a full ground press strategy in which you need to be very fit, aerobic, and you need to get it right," he said.
"If you watch a pro game all the players transition up the ground as the ball goes and all the players end up in one half of the field.
"In amateur games players will just stay to their position on the field.
"And if the opposition end up with the ball they all come back and flood the backline to make it difficult to score.
"It's powerful if you get it right and it works, but if everyone is not on the same page you can get hammered."
The plan requires such fitness levels, Carroll said the program for the 18s team starts as early as November.
"The program for the 18s is better than any others on the North Coast," he said.
"Even our senior teams watch the way the 18s play and are just amazed."
But Carroll admitted the game plan was not flawed and said if Sawtell manage to slow the game down it could be up for anyone to take the win.
"I rate them as a very good football side and if they can stop our run and slow play down they'll win," he said.
Reserve grade will have a tough battle on their hands but there's more than the grand final to play for.
Inspirational leader Al Rider will play in his 202nd game for the club.
