The team's coach and one of the bowlers involved is Wauchope's John Borg.
Borg was born in Malta and moved to Australia when he was five years old.
He is one of the Maltese bowlers who have been selected to represent the country with the twist being all three live in Australia.
Borg will join, and coach, Len Callus and Carmen Spiteri, both of Melbourne.
He will team up with Callus in the pairs while Spiteri will compete in the single women's.
It's not the first time Borg has represented Malta.
He was the reserve for the team at the 2010 Deli Games.
To make selection for the team the criteria was for bowlers to have performed at an international level since the last Commonwealth Games.
Borg and his compatriot, Callus were the only two to win a World Challenge and a Champion of Champion events in the last two years.
The Wauchope bowler won the national indoor and outdoor titles.
He will play a minimum of five games while in Glasgow and his Malta team find themselves in the same group as Northern Ireland, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea and Samoa.
Borg has recently moved to Wauchope from Forster to be close to his daughter Sean-Renae and now calls the Wauchope Bowling Club home.
He was pleased with the quality of play in the area.
"It's certainly up there," he said.
"It would have to be some of the strongest bowls up and down the coast.
"There are some really good bowlers here and the club is fantastic They've been very supportive."
