Port Macquarie MP Leslie Williams said the community expects that their elected representatives will work together to protect the most vulnerable, and the NSW Government is fulfilling its promise to do just that.
She said the Budget reflects a priority to provide a better social housing program and to bolster caseworkers with more resources to help break the cycle of disadvantage.
“To achieve this, locally we are investing $2.1 million for the upgrade of social housing and supported accommodation,” Mrs Williams said.
“The Budget includes additional funding for the tourism sector which is one of the most important economic drivers on the Mid North Coast.
“$110 million will go toward a new Regional Tourism Infrastructure Fund which is part of the $1 billion investment in regional infrastructure,” Mrs Williams said.
