Police said the Isuzu D-Max was stolen from the driveway of a Crosslands via Wauchope home on Monday night.
The victim and his friends then listed the ute, which is valued at $40,000, on social media: at the same time, police said the alleged offender spent Tuesday morning sending Facebook messages to people about the vehicle.
Police went to alleged offender's Wauchope home about 9.30am on Tuesday, where they allege an Isuzu key was found on a table.
The 19-year-old man was arrested, and told police the ute could be found just off the Old Highway Road in Bago State Forest.
Police recovered the vehicle and the man was taken to Port Macquarie Police Station. He was charged with one count of break, enter and steal and another of stealing a motor vehicle.
He was granted conditional bail to appear at Port Macquarie Local Court on May 15.
