The Heritage Festival rolls on, the clubs bring out their giant Easter egg and seafood raffles and the children are kept busy at Glasshouse workshops and regional shopping centre activities.
For the kids
o Today at Settlement City Shopping Centre Fireman Sam story time and face painting are at 10am, the Fireman Sam show at 11am and 1pm with a meet and greet at noon, and there’s finger puppet craft at 2pm.
Check out the posters at the centre for what’s on tomorrow and at the Disney Cars and Planes Interactive Zone next week.
o The Easter bunny hands out treats at Port Central Shopping Centre on Easter Saturday from 10am until noon.
Remember both regional shopping centres are closed on Good Friday.
o The Glasshouse has workshops today at 10am for ages six to eight years and 1.30pm for ages nine to 12 years.
The children will learn Tie Dye techniques and can take any white item they would like to turn into a funky new design.
Tomorrow’s session is at 10am and is for ages six to 12 years to learn how to draw native animals.
All sessions are $18 and include materials.
There are more creative sessions next week, too.
o Today at Panthers Port Macquarie it’s eyes down for Easter Bingo at 9.30am and Easter Kids Bidz at 10.45am.
Both sessions are recommended for ages five to 12 years and are $5 each.

o Free Family Fun Day at Bain Park Wauchope from 10.30am.
o Moonlight Movies - Free outdoor movie Hop thanks to Port Macquarie-Hastings Council - tonight at Bain Park Wauchope and tomorrow at Town Green, both at 6.30pm.
Heritage Festival
o Those who want to discover more about their family history should can head to the Port Macquarie Library today for two free sessions hosted by Port Macquarie & Districts Family History Society.
The two hour Journey of Life sessions at 10am and 1pm will demonstrate how the birth, death and marriage records and old newspaper articles can help you trace your family history.
o Tomorrow hop on a bus for a tour of Wauchope, Byabarra and Comboyne from 9am until 3.30pm.
Tickets are $65 and include morning tea, lunch and drinks.

o A special Good Friday service at 9.30am at St Mary’s Herons Creek Heritage and Community Chapel, 49 Blackbutt Road, will include a presentation of the importance of faith to the early settlers.
You can wear period dress and take along some of grandma’s recipe slice to share.
oDouglas Vale Historic Homestead & Vineyard hosts its annual Open Day celebrations on Saturday.
From 10am until 2pm there will be entertainment, craft stalls, wine tastings, heritage cars on show, tours of the homestead and more - all for a gold coin donation.
o On Monday a walking tour around Port Macquarie’s CBD will allow you to step back in time to discover our convict heritage.
Hosted by Port Macquarie Historical Society, the $5 tour leaves at 10am from the Historical Museum on Clarence Street. Reserve a place by calling 6583 1108 and wear walking shoes and a sun hat.

Screening of Westside Story at the Glasshouse at 11am for $15
o Port Macquarie Art Society annual Easter Art Exhibit at Port Macquarie Historic Court House opens tonight at 6pm. Tickets are $15 including light refreshments and the announcement of winners.
The exhibit continues from tomorrow - 10am until 6pm and will close on Monday, April 21 at 4pm.
o Tomorrow at 8pm Tim Rogers, Shane O’Mara and Phil Jamison are in concert at Panthers Port Macquarie Pier One with tickets at $45.
