POLICE are continuing their search efforts for a 54-year-old Forster man who went missing on Sunday afternoon.

Peter Cooke, 54, is believed to have left his Forster home on Saturday afternoon and driven to Cape Hawke, in the Booti Booti National Park.
Manning-Great Lakes Local Area Command Inspector Neil Stevens said police coordinated a land and sea search for the man about 7am Monday in the McBride's Beach area where the man's car was found on Sunday afternoon.
A friend reported Mr Cooke missing to police about noon Sunday.
Police along with Marine Rescue and Cape Hawke Surf Life Saving Club volunteers conducted a search from about 2pm until night fall but were unable to find Mr Cooke.
Volunteers from the State Emergency Service (SES) as well as Marine Rescue are assisting police with the search efforts.
An extensive search is continuing in the area and police are appealing for anyone who sees Mr Cooke, or believes they know his whereabouts, to come forward.
He’s described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 173cm tall, with a thin build and dark, balding hair.
