This year the Port Volunteer Expo will be held the grounds of the Mid North Coast Maritime Museum from 9.30 am.
Volunteer Centre coordinator Beck Miles wants the expo to have a festival feel saying there will be 'something for everyone' including music, food and refreshments.
"There are so many wonderful not-for-profit organisations joining the Port Volunteer expo showcasing their services and informing our community of the volunteering options available.
By offering the expo on aSaturday, we are hoping this makes it more accessible for people considering volunteering to attend. Volunteering can really give you a sense of achievement by making a difference to someone's life".
The Port Macquarie Neighbourhood Centre values the contribution that volunteers make every day. For this reason the Port Macquarie Neighbourhood Centre community volunteer awards have been included as part of the Expo this year, raising awareness and recognition of volunteering.
"Volunteers are the cornerstone of our community and are vital to raising awareness of the not-for-profit sector," said Ms Miles.
"We wish to honour individual volunteers and teams in the Port Macquarie-Hastings district for their commitment to outstanding volunteering.
"We are also seeking businesses to sponsor an award."
Volunteering Australia announced the theme for the 25th anniversary year of National Volunteer Week, celebrate the power of volunteering. More than six million volunteers together form a formidable workforce powering many essential community, environmental, sporting, welfare, emergency services, education and cultural services and supports.
The Port Volunteer Expo committee are calling on not-for-groups to register for the event and submit nominations for the volunteer community awards.
Over 30 groups are already attending as stall holders.
"We welcome local businesses to donate or sponsor their services to support the expo's first year at an outdoor venue to bring the festival feel to the event," she said.
"Corporate tents are welcomed. We look forward to celebrating volunteering with a fresh 'new look' said Beck and welcome community to join us in celebrating volunteering. You just never know what you might find."
