Hastings, captained by Andrew Glover, will rely on a mixture of young guns and the experience of older heads to get the representative season off to a good start.
The team has picked up former Manning batting all-rounder Daniel Stone and will look to him for a few runs.
His off-spinners can take a few wickets, too.
"He gets through a mountain of overs," Hastings team manager Nathan Kerr said.
Wauchope RSL bowler Jason Blythe is in good form at the right time. Blythe took a bag of wickets against Kerr's Camden Haven team.
"We'll be looking for some runs from him," Kerr said.
Blythe's RSL teammate Blake Larance also had a promising start with 40. He'll play on Sunday for Hastings.
Daniel Minns hit the ball clean as a whistle last Saturday, according to Kerr, and should also get some runs on Sunday.
