$777,400 National Workforce Development Fund for Mid North Coast Aged Care service providers.
$249,000 DEEWR Employer Broker Panel project ($126,500) to develop, establish and support significant growth in the Aged and Community Care sectors on the Mid North Coast. Similar funding and support was also secured for the local manufacturing sector ($122,500).
Lobbied for priority employment status to be extended to the Lyne electorate, which means extra funding and support for local jobs growth. Lyne’s unemployment rate has now fallen to 5.53 per cent and the North Coast now has the third strongest jobs growth figures in Australia. By contrast, the local jobless rate was 2.7 per cent higher than the national rate back in September 2008. Some communities had unemployment rates of almost 10 per cent, which had been accepted by the major political parties for decades.
