In the inaugural interstate over-70s matches, NSW defeated Queensland in two matches.
In match one, NSW 7-124 defeated Queensland over-70s, 6-122 by three wickets, with four overs to spare. In match two, NSW 3-99 defeated Queensland 9-97 by seven wickets with eight overs to spare.
The two wins were achieved through old-fashioned team work with batsmen Ralph Sadler, Jeff Perkins (Port Macquarie), Mike Cashman and Doug Crowell all batting through to retirement scores of 20 runs over the two days of play.
Top wicket-taker was Perkins, with three wickets, while Cashman, Paul Barrington, Bob Hook and Maurie Hamilton took two wickets apiece.
