Toddler remains in stable condition

A TODDLER remains in a stable condition after a near-downing in Port Macquarie yesterday (Wednesday).

The 23-month-old was pulled from the family pool at a Lighthouse Beach home at approximately 12.40pm.

His mother found him and his father began CPR before emergency services arrived.

He was taken to Port Macquarie Hospital.

A police spokesperson said the boy could be released before the end of the day.

This follows on from a number of incidents on the water earlier this week which needed the Ambulance Service of NSW intervention.

Paramedics were called to Dunbogan Bridge in Laurieton at 1.16pm on Tuesday following reports a teenage girl was hurt in a jet ski accident.

On arrival paramedics treated the girl for arm and neck injuries.

She was flown to John Hunter Hospital by Ambulance Medical Rescue Helicopter in a serious but stable condition.

In just over 24 hours, the Ambulance Service of NSW responded to 12  incidents where people had either drowned or nearly drowned and required assistance.
