THE traditional Boxing Day queues on the Pacific Highway were missing in action yesterday - but, for the moment, they're back.
At 5pm, authorities were reporting queues at the following hot spots:
* 11km northbound at Bulahdelah - add 60 minutes to your travel time
* 12km northbound at Kempsey - add 45 minutes
* 1.5km northbound at Macksville
The traditional Boxing Day crawl north on the Pacific Highway did not eventuate yesterday but that could simply be attributed to the weekend's long queues.
Buladelah, Kempsey and Woolgoolga were traffic trouble spots late last week. At one stage, traffic was banked back 25km heading north into Kempsey.
With many people enjoying an extended Christmas break the motoring madness began early and - fingers crossed - will not emerge later.
