My situation was fairly inconsequential in the scheme of things, but I always felt that I was the most important patient they had, a feeling I know a lot of other patients shared.
The staff were always cheerful, extremely caring and helpful, even though I probably caused them some consternation at times.
The Mid-North Coast is blessed to have such quality health care, from initial diagnosis right through to potentially life-saving treatment, all due to dedicated people like the mob at the Cancer Institute.
Until recently, I never realised just how prevalent prostate cancer really is, I was too busy to have it, although I had regular checks over a few years.
I urge all you blokes out there to see the GP, get checked out and do whatever it takes to get sorted.
At times, you could almost see the process as a bit of fun, a lot of embarrassed laughs are guaranteed. It ain’t that bad!!
In closing, thank you again to all the staff involved in the treatment program, we had some fun and some of you got a bit chubby, keep it up kids and I’ll see some of you down the track.
