With a new competition looming, more players are need to take part in the Hastings District Women's Cricket Association's Friday night competition.
Registration is Friday night at Wood Street, and with modified rules and an early-bird discount, now is the perfect time to pad up and take to the field.
At least two teams have been locked in, but organisers hope to have four by the time the first game is played, the following Friday.
Those who sign up on Friday will pay just $30 for a 10-week competition.
Signing up after Friday will cost you $40.
Each batswoman is guaranteed two overs in the middle in an indoor-cricket style variation on the rules.
HRDWA secretary Megan Velardi said bowling was optional.
"If you want to have a bowl, you're more than welcome," she said.
