Several club records were broken during this year’s championships and those swimmers responsible for setting new competition benchmarks were presented with medallions to commemorate their great swims.
Thee new records belong to:
Erin Collins - eight years girls 50 metres backstroke 47.75s
Felicity McGee - nine years girls 50 metres backstroke 43.55s
Chantelle Berry - 10 years girls 50 metres freestyle 34.68s, 50 metres backstroke 39.66s, 50 metres breaststroke 46.50s, 50 metres butterfly 40.79s and 200 metres individual medley 3.12.32s
Natalie Berry - 13 years girls 50 metres freestyle 34.76s, 50 metres backstroke 39.58s and 50 metres butterfly 40.25s
The big awards of the night - the pointscore champions - were won by two swimmers who showed consistent improvement in their swimming throughout the summer competition: Girls pointscore champion and most improved swimmer - Sarah Ison; Boys pointscore champion and most improved swimmer - Blake Polverino
Congratulations to all swimmers who competed at The Swimming Academy during the summer season.
The winter competition started on Friday, May 4.
New swimmers are invited to come along and enjoy the club each Friday night at The Swimming Academy, Jindalee Road, Port Macquarie at 6pm.
