racers as was evidenced by another record turnout on Sunday.
There were 98 junior riders and 70 seniors signed on for the day with entries from as far away as Newcastle, Cessnock and Sydney.
"Many thanks to the large turnout for the working bee on Saturday, the start area was completely rebuilt and it worked a treat," club president Bill Armitage said.
"Further parts of the track were resurfaced, jumps were refaced and the tag team from Hastings Valley Water Carriers applied thousand of litres of water to the track and the dust was minimal.
"Our irrigation pump was commissioned as well as the club's own water tank, which will work greatly towards improving rider safety.
"All we need now are the funds to purchase and install some underground mains and
sprinklers and the job will be much easier.
"Motocross in the Hastings is also gaining popularity with spectators, and there were lots of them on hand at the weekend.
"They were well and truly entertained with non-stop action from 9m until just after 4pm and the standard of racing is improving to the point that Hastings
riders are constantly gaining placings wherever they race."

• The Maclean Club will be hosting round three of the North Coast Series this weekend, so the Hastings Club will be conducting another practice day on Sunday at the raceway.
Riders are reminded that the procedure for the start of the day is the same as for a normal race day, with sign-on finishing by 8.30am and practice to start at around 9am. Practice days are normally low
pressure with all classes having four rounds each, finishing around 3pm.
Once again spectators are more than welcome and entry is free.
