Likewise to 2009, when the Breakers upstaged Forster Tuncurry in the inaugural decider, it was the Hawks who fell victim again.
This time, Port City stunned the favourites - and minor premiers - 3-1.
Hawks’ trump women Kylie Hilder, Melissa Finlayson
and Ashleigh Alcorn troubled the Breakers early on, but local girls Simone Smith and Kate Coleman returned the favour.
In fact, it was Smith, who broke the deadlock in the 19th minute.
The talented youngster kicked ahead and regathered to score a great individual effort, giving the Breakers a 1-0 advantage at the break.
Forster struck back immediately in the second half to draw level at 1-all.
With 10 minutes remaining, Port
City’s Courtney Gordon grabbed a crucial intercept and raced away for a 2-1 lead.
Almost immediately, Smith and Nakita Binge combined to launch another attacking raid.
Binge then found Coleman, who drew the defence and gave Smith a clear run to the line - thus handing the Breakers a 3-1 margin.
Forster threw everything at Port City in the latter stages, but could not break the determined home side’s defence.
The Breakers, coached by Troy Roach, featured the skills of Smith, Coleman, Binge, Gordon, Alinta White, Carmen Evans, Cassie Schmidt, Katie Kelly, Laura Avery, Kate Felstead, Jasmine Wilbow, Kara Lewis, Hannah Reynolds, Brittany Mackay and Tegan Adkins.
PORT CITY BREAKERS 3 (Simone Smith 2, Courtney Gordon tries) defeated FORSTER TUNCURRY HAWKETTES 1.
