The Port Macquarie teenager was hit by a car in Lake Rd on Friday night.
Mitch, 17, died in hospital the next day.
He left behind his father and mother, Darryl and Debbie, brother Shane, and sisters Melissa, Leanne and Renae.
The teen’s death triggered an outpouring of grief in Port Macquarie.
His dad thanked the town for its support.
“On behalf of us, we thank everybody, the whole Port Macquarie community, for supporting us through this tragic loss,” Mr Voysey said.
“Words from us can’t thank them enough.”
He said his son was a hard worker who had a lot of friends in town.
“Mitch was such a good young lad. So popular he was.
“He loved his family and he loved all his friends and he lived life to the full.”
Mitch, an apprentice butcher, lived at home with his family.
Mr Voysey said he “loved his job and his workmates”.
He added that Mitch also enjoyed a hit of golf and “a bit of party life”.
“He was just a full-on young fella’, always looking for something to do.
“He was very close to his brother.
“We’re coping to get through the funeral and things, and we hope to start rebuilding our lives.”
Friends are invited to a ceremony celebrating Mitch’s life, Mr Voysey said.
It will be held in the chapel of the Innes Gardens Memorial Park tomorrow from 11am.
