Rain puts a dampener on outright ambitions

SATURDAY'S rain robbed two first grade teams of the chance to grab valuable outright points.

Wauchope RSL and Port Panthers Pirates had the chance to claim maximum points after first-innings wins last week, but the rain put an end to those aspirations.

The other match between Port City Leagues Magpies and Macquarie Hotel was set to be a cliffhanger, but players didn't even get onto the Wayne Richards Park turf wicket to contest the second week.

Macquarie leads the competition after the round, with 30 points. Wauchope RSL has 23 points and Port City Leagues Magpies 22.

Camden Haven rounds out the top four, with 14 points.

Port Panthers Pirates (12) are next, while Comboyne brings up the rear with three.

Comboyne takes on Macquarie Hotel next week, while the Pirates play the Magpies.

Camden Haven hosts Wauchope RSL in the other match of round six.
