Robbers assault 91-year-old in cash grab

A 91-YEAR-OLD woman was assaulted during a home invasion at a Port Macquarie aged care centre yesterday afternoon. 

Police said the elderly woman was confronted by two men in the lounge room of her unit on Boronia St about 3pm. The men stole cash before making a quick escape out the back door. 

During the incident the woman was allegedly pushed by one of the men however she wasn’t injured.

Police from the Mid North Local Area Command, forensic crews and a dog unit responded to the scene. A crime scene was established and has since been examined.

Investigations are continuing to identify and locate the offenders, who have been described as being aged in their late teens, of Caucasian appearance and quite tall.
