The adventurous dog became stuck after taking a shortcut between the house and parked car at around 12pm on Saturday.
"The owners were able to review CCTV footage that showed Othello was walking in a tight spot between the car and the house," Port Macquarie SES senior operator Mark Anderson said.
"He somehow managed to fall backwards and because of the tight squeeze he was unable to get out."
After struggling, Othello managed to wedge himself under the car where it was impossible to reach him.
The vehicle was close to the ground, with SES volunteers having to raise and stabilise it to get access to Othello.
"This was a sports car that was very low to the ground, which made things more complex," Mr Anderson said.
Three SES operators attended the scene in their new heavy rescue truck.
"What might sound like a simple operation of lifting a car becomes very complicated when having to do so without injuring the animal," Mr Anderson said.
"We used special blocks and wedges to support the weight and stability of the vehicle while we used special hydraulic equipment to lift the car.
"This allowed us to safely slide an operator underneath the vehicle, manipulate Othello out of his entrapment, and slide him out to safety."
The rescue was carried out in a COVID-safe fashion with all volunteers wearing appropriate PPE gear.
"We were very pleased with the end result of the rescue. Othello was unharmed by the ordeal.
"Also, this was an expensive sports car, so we used specialist equipment to ensure that the rescue was undertaken without damaging the car as well."
Lots of cuddles and pats were administered to Othello at the end of the rescue to help alleviate any anxiety from the ordeal.
