A TRAFFIC patrol blitz by Mid North Coast Police has caught out a number of drivers across the region either affected by alcohol or drugs.

About 5.10pm on Friday, December 24, Port Macquarie Highway Patrol Police stopped a vehicle on the Pacific Highway near Lake Innes.
The driver, a 43 year old woman from Gladesville, was subjected to a roadside breath test that returned a positive reading.
The woman was conveyed to Port Macquarie Police Station where she underwent a breath analysis that police will allege returned a reading of 0.224.
The woman's licence was suspended and she was charged with drive with high range PCA and speeding. She will appear at Port Macquarie Local Court on February 2, 2022.
Driver charged for not having a licence
At about 9.20pm on Friday, December 24, Kempsey police stopped a vehicle on Queen Street, South Kempsey.
The driver, a 28 year old Kempsey man, was submitted to a roadside breath test which returned a negative reading.
Police will allege a check of the driver's licence status revealed the driver was not licensed.
The driver was issued with a court attendance notice to appear at Kempsey Local Court on January 17, 2022.
Christmas Day drug test
At about 12.55am on Christmas Day, Port Macquarie police stopped a vehicle on Gordon Street, Port Macquarie.
The driver, a 29 year old Port Macquarie man, submitted to a roadside breath test that returned a negative reading.
The driver then submitted to a roadside drug test that police will allege returned a positive reading.
The driver was arrested and conveyed to Port Macquarie Police Station for a secondary drug test.
This test returned a positive detection to methylamphetamine. The sample has been sent for further analysis.
The driver was issued a 24-hour prohibition from driving notice.
Police allege positive reading for meth
At about 2.30am on Christmas Day, Port Macquarie police stopped a vehicle on Gordon Street, Port Macquarie.
The driver, a 21 year old Port Macquarie man, submitted to a roadside breath test that returned a negative reading.
The driver then submitted to a roadside drug test that returned a positive reading.
The driver was arrested and conveyed to Port Macquarie Police Station for a secondary drug test.
This test returned a positive detection to methylamphetamine.
The sample has been sent for further analysis.
The driver was issued a 24 hour prohibition from driving notice.
Truckie faces drink driving charge
A truck driver will appear in court on a drink driving offence after being stopped by police at Logans Crossing.
About 6.30pm on Friday, December 24, Mid North Coast Police patrolled the Logans Crossing area after a number of driving complaints in the area.
At about 7pm, police stopped a table top truck on Logans Crossing Road, Logans Crossing and subjected the 64 year old male driver to a road side breath test.
The driver returned a positive result and was arrested and conveyed to Wauchope Police Station.
The driver underwent a breath analysis where police will allege he returned a reading in the middle range.
The driver was issued with a court attendance notice to appear at Port Macquarie Local Court on February 8, 2022.
The man's licence was suspended.
