THERE were 23 new cases of COVID-19 reported in the Mid North Coast Local Health District to 8pm yesterday (18 December).

Eleven cases are from the Coffs Harbour Local Government Area (LGA), eight cases are from the Port Macquarie-Hastings LGA, three cases are from the Kempsey LGA and one case is from the Bellingen LGA.
The source of the infection of 20 cases is under investigation and three cases are linked to a known case or cluster.
There are currently 146 active COVID cases in the Mid North Coast Health District and one person is being treated in hospital.
There have been 691 cases reported in the District since the beginning of the current NSW outbreak.

facility visitation changes
In line with state-wide visitation arrangements, new visitor rules will apply at all Mid North Coast Health healthcare facilities to protect staff and patients.
Visitors will only be allowed for:
- Seeking medical treatment
- Obtaining medical supplies
- Birthing women (one support person during birth and on the postnatal ward)
- Parents of children who are patients (can tag-team)
- Both parents can attend Special Care Nursery
- End-of-life visit by up to two persons per day
- Fulfilling carer's responsibilities
Any visitor allowed to attend a site will also need to comply with COVID-19 assessment questions.
High demand for testing
There continues to be high demand for COVID-19 testing at our clinics across the Mid North Coast.
Healthcare workers and support staff are working exceptionally hard to test everyone, including people with symptoms and those requiring testing for interstate travel.
Drive-through testing clinic opening hours are:
- Coffs Harbour: Stadium Drive, 8am to 6.30pm
- Kempsey: Corner of Verge and Sydney streets, 8am to 4pm
- Macksville: Dudley Street, 9am to 4pm (extended hours)
- Port Macquarie: Boundary Street, 8am to 4pm (8am-2pm weekends)
- South West Rocks: Steve Eagleton Drive, 9am to 3.30pm (closed 12.30pm - 1.30pm) Tuesday and Thursday
- Woolgoolga: CWA Rooms, Beach Street, 9.30am to 1.30pm (Wednesday, Thursday and Friday)

Booster shots roll out
You can now receive a booster vaccination five months after your second dose, with both Pfizer and Moderna vaccines available.
If you had your second dose in July or earlier you are eligible for a booster.
