Elly Markezic is relatively new to rugby league, but her bloodlines flow through the heart of the Wauchope Rugby League Football Club.

Brother-in-law Danny is president of the club's junior grades, while fellow brother-in-law Mat Bird is captain-coach of last year's first grade minor premiers.
Mother Lorraine is the secretary while Elly's two sisters have also spent time over the years filling the secretary and treasurer roles.
But in 2022, Elly might overtake them all on the pecking order after she was appointed as the first woman to take a seat on the Group 3 rugby league board of directors.
"It's a long time overdue, I think," she said.
"I know that the New South Wales Rugby League are focusing on women in league and I think it's about time that we not only took the field, but show what we can do off the field too."
Elly will largely be in charge of the live-scoring systems for the Group 3 website which will allow fans to watch games as they happen.

While she admits it won't be the same as being at the ground, it will be an adequate second choice for those who can't attend.
"We can show our spectators the game as it happens with the live scoring system which captures everything," Markezic said.
"People can watch play-by-play so it's similar to listening to a horse race or a dog race."
Elly admitted family catch-ups only occurred when rugby league was the topic of conversation.
"Our family only catches up when it's something to do with footy. Our monthly footy meetings are like a family dinner with a few add-ons," she said.
"It's never come to a time where they've needed a female perspective as much as they do now because I can do the website and they can't."
She was looking forward to teaching some of the older members of the Group 3 board about the modern day rugby league experience.
"The way rugby league is heading - into being more digital - they needed more help on that side of things and I think that's what I can offer and what they're lacking.

"It's hard to teach an old dog new tricks but we don't have a choice. If we want to play league this is what we have to do."
The plan is that within half an hour of full-time at games next season, all details of every match will be completed.
"I want to show Mal how streamlined everything can be," she said.
"He will go to the games every weekend and write down who does what, but on a Monday footy is over for us. We're not quite at training yet, but the games are over.
"Mal spends six to 10 hours putting all the games into the website that we could do on gameday which cuts 10-hours a week out of his workload."
