A short highlights package was all it took for the Canberra Raiders to show an interest in promising Port Macquarie teenage rugby league prodigy Corey Lewis.

The Port City Breakers centre or fullback will call the nation's capital home for the next two years after he signed a deal with the National Rugby League club's SG Ball squad.
He's only been in the ACT for a month, but Lewis has already rubbed shoulders with a number of high-profile first graders.
"I've only had two sessions with the NRL boys but they're all pretty welcoming. We see them on the weekends and stuff like that," he said.
"They've got us training with the (under) 21s and on Tuesday we train with the NRL skills' session as well.
"I always wanted to (be signed by an NRL club), but I never thought it was possible to get there."
Lewis said it didn't take long to feel at home since making the move.
"They're all pretty good and together and if you're struggling with something they'll help you out," he said.
"There's no one or two that have shown a bit more of an interest, but I have had a session coached by Ricky Stuart."
Before he left the Hastings at the end of October, the 18-year-old played a handful of first grade matches with the Breakers before the Group 3 season was cut short in mid-August.
The step up in quality and physicality had provided him with a good platform to launch from the local competition into the Raiders' program.
"Playing first grade in Port definitely did help," he said.
"It's pretty similar from Group 3 first grade to the under-18s at the Raiders although the speed is probably a little bit quicker again.
"There's a lot of focus on development at the Raiders and I know can only get better. I can already see improvements in my game so hopefully I can just keep going from now."
Lewis hopes to progress through the grades into the Jersey Flegg (under-21) squad by the end of next season.
"Hopefully I can play a few games for them and either play with them again next year or hopefully join the NSW Cup team which is the development squad for NRL," he said.
"I don't mind the Raiders, they're a good club."
Lewis is the third Breakers junior to be picked up by an NRL club for 2022 after Ryan Moloney signed a two-year deal with Canterbury Bankstown.
Teammate Tyrece Dungay has been signed by the Dragons.
