The North Haven minor celebrities hatched Ebony and Squeak on November 14 and 15, surprising residents who are continuing to rebuild from the devastating floods in March this year.
'Bubs and Soapy' are the beloved pets of park managers Glenn and Claire Stevenson. The chickens have previously travelled around Queensland and even dipped their feet in the sands of the Simpson Desert.
"These two are definitely my babies but now they have had their own babies too," Mrs Stevenson said.
"They travelled around Queensland with us when COVID first hit. We had packed everything up, travelled around for three months and went to far north Queensland. They are very well travelled chickens.
"They went to the Simpson Desert with us, they had a travel home in the back of the land cruiser and a little run as well."
The pair of Pekin Bantams were recently rescued during the March floods by Brigadoon residents and housed in an upstairs office to ride out the wet weather.
"During the floods they were housed at the park and the daughter of one of our residents rescued them by putting them in an office upstairs," Mrs Stevenson said.
"They were laying eggs behind the computer and trying to dry off in there. They have done very, very well since then and they are still here at the park today.
"They are my babies and we have regular guests each year who bring their food scraps to them or ask about them.
"At the park there are still some people waiting to get back into their homes. We have 70 residents and seven holiday vans, some are waiting on insurance companies to start work.
"We're still waiting on more kitchens to come, some accommodation still needs to be completely stripped and started again."
