The academy will provide the St Columba Anglican School year 12 students with the opportunity to further their careers as they pursue professional contracts overseas.
"It's probably the highest level of training you can get in Australia and something that I've really aspired to," Ebbs said.
"After hearing about the Australian Volleyball Academy and how far volleyball can take you, I was really motivated to pursue it as far as I could.
"Every year there are scouts at national events that come around and we became more and more interested in going off to Canberra to train there."
From the academy, graduates can pursue American College or professional contracts overseas.
"That's something I'd really like to do for myself as a volleyball player," Ebbs said.
Around 150 applicants vied for selection in the academy where Ebbs and Page were two of 40 who successfully progressed.
"It's a good step forward for our careers in volleyball. It will be great to go overseas and get a contract playing in the big leagues over there," Page said.
"It will be great to play in the Olympics in future years."
The academy will focus on aspects of both beach volleyball and indoor volleyball.
"Volleyball started as a hobby with mates and it got more serious after we were picked in representative teams, but now it's a huge passion of both ours," Ebbs said.
This weekend the 17-year-old pairing will be on opposite sides of the net when the NSW Beach Volleyball Tour hits Town Beach.
It will be the first time the event has been held in Port Macquarie and the duo are looking forward to the experience.
"We're not together for this one, but it changes in each event so it's always a great experience," Ebbs said.
"You get to see some of your mates from around the state and everyone comes down to the beach and has a great day."
They're not expecting anything other than just to have fun. Finals aren't on their radar.
"You've probably seen from watching us play that we've still got a long way to go," Ebbs said.
"But both of us aspire to professional contracts over in Europe and then in years to come hopefully playing for Australia at the Olympics."
