Twenty-eight teams from across the under-12, under-14, under-16, under-18 and open boys and girls divisions will play at the Port Macquarie Indoor Stadium.
Basketball NSW competitions coordinator Ricky Hetherington said it was an exciting tournament recognised by FIBA.
"It's a three on three tournament where players can accrue points that are internationally recognised by FIBA which helps Australia qualify for the next Olympics," he said.
"It's only been around for the last couple of years, but players like it because you can play over three or four weeks and the season is done with rather than over five or six months."
A Northern Rivers men's under-18 team called White Chocolate are ones to keep an eye out for.
"You don't know who are the ones to watch because some open teams have played in multiple tournaments, but the guys from Northern Rivers have played in our Premier League in recent years," Hetherington said.
The competition will run from 10am until 3pm on Saturday.
