Applications open today for the next round of the program, giving more local groups the chance to gain funding for projects which will make a real difference to the community.
Member for Port Macquarie, Leslie Williams said the funding will help Garden Village continue supporting the community and recover from the impacts of COVID-19.
"Garden Village has undergone a massive transformation over the past few years including the ongoing redevelopment currently underway so to be able to assist them further with the grant is wonderful news," Mrs Williams said.
In the latest round of Infrastructure Grants to be announced, 41 successful projects across the State will be funded to support local community organisations.
Mrs Williams said Infrastructure Grants are an important part of boosting the economy and rebuilding struggling communities that are still feeling the impact of COVID-19.
"This year $12.5 million is available in funding to support projects which will promote the construction or upgrade of facilities across the State in sport and recreation, arts and culture, disaster readiness and community infrastructure," Mrs Williams said.
"Some communities have struggled to maintain sports, cultural and other social activities during COVID-19, so the funding can back projects that are beneficial for communities."
Infrastructure Grants are made possible through the NSW Government's ClubGrants Category 3 Fund, which reinvests a contribution from the state's registered clubs gaming machine profits back into community projects.
"These grants will help to rebuild community spirit by boosting participation in sports and recreation; encourage local theatres, creative arts and museums and restore community infrastructure."
