Dungay (Dragons), Maloney (Bulldogs) and Lewis (Raiders) have all been selected in their respective club's SG Ball (under-18) squads for 2022 as they prepare to take the next step in their rugby league journey.

Breakers under-18 coach Ben Sprague has followed the trio for the last couple of years through his role as coach.

"All three kids are great kids. They're dedicated, train hard and it's good to send them down there because it represents us well at the Breakers," he said.

"The boys have also been heavily in the North Coast Bulldogs system over the last two or three years which has given them the right pathway and shown them how it's meant to be."

Dungay finished the season in the front row for Port City in the Group 3 rugby league first grade competition.

"Tyrese matured and started the last three or four games of the season in first grade and towards the end of the year he was one of the better players," Sprague said.

Maloney has been in the Bulldogs system for a number of years.

"Ryan is an extremely talented kid. He's worked hard to get where he is and he'll do well," the former coach said.

Lewis thought he may never play rugby league again when he suffered a serious neck injury a few years ago.

He was then selected in the North Coast Bulldogs side for the 2021 Laurie Daley Cup competition before the Raiders came calling.

"Corey is always there and thereabouts and he has taken advantage of the opportunities he's had and he could do anything," Sprague said.

Sprague said most importantly all three players had a good work ethic.

"They're extremely talented and most importantly really love playing the game. They're good kids."
